Baby's first crochet

I did it! I have defeated the monster that is crochet. Look, a swatch that did not end in tears:
OK, so it's not square, per se. But I'm getting there. The cast on is just a bit tight. New doors have just opened. I don't even realize all my options yet. Yay!
